"Never to old to Rock and Roll"
What is Weekend Warriors?

The Music Industries Association is passionate about encouraging more people to play music. The Weekend Warrior programme has been brought to the UK from the US by the MIA. It gives older lapsed musicians a unique opportunity to re-join a band and re-live their musical youth.

Weekend Warriors was started in the US in 1993 by Skips Music and taken up by NAMM the American Music Association. The programme is now run throughout the US and, through the Australian Music Association, in Australia.

In the UK MIA shops manage the programme which provides local musicians with equipment, rehearsal space and a mentor to help them work towards a gig in front of family and friends.

You can even round off the evening with a bit of a jam session! Drum kits , backline and a few new toys will be available on the night.

BASSISTS AND SINGERS URGENTLY REQUIRED!
The latest Reading WEEKEND WARRIORS programme kicked off last night Wednesday October 18th, with a great live set from  '24 Fighting Camels' to get us all in the mood .  We have 4 embryo bands due to start playing together from next week but we could really do with one or two bassists and vocalists to complete the line-ups - and to save me and Russ from playing in too many bands!

Please RSVP to info@plugnplay.tv
