Reading's Music School

At Hickies Music School in Reading we teach over two hundred student a week all across Berkshire and Oxfordshire. Our passionate and dedicated team of music tutores cover a broad range of instrument including guitar lessons, piano lesson, violin lessons and woodwind lessons. With the experience of our teachers, students of all ages and abilities are welcome from young maestros to seasoned musicians. All of our teaching rooms are furnished with instruments for students to use during lessons, you can bring your own instruments too.

Lessons & Bookings

Lessons are paid in advanced in groups of four at £16 per ½ an hour. New students have the opportunity to try a free trial lesson. Key Points

No Contract

Lessons are booked in groups of four, such that, as long as you keep attending your lessons you can keep your weekly lesson time. However if you decide you no longer need lessons, you can just contact us and finish when it suits you.

Lessons Run All Year

Because our music school is both for adults and children, our music school is available all year around, including major school holidays.

Music Rooms Are Furnished

We have everything you will need for lessons here in our music school, so If you don’t want to bring your instrument to lessons or you have not purchased your own instrument yet you can still attend lessons.

One To One Lessons

Our lessons are taught on a personal, one to one basis. At our school you get a personalised learning experience where your teacher will tailor lessons to your needs. Be it preparing for grades with an exam board or simply to learn some of your favourite songs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What happens if I need to cancel a lesson?

A: Simply call us on 0118 957 5771 or email contact@hickies.co.uk. Lessons that are cancelled 24 hours before their start time are carried forward without charge. Students are liable for payment of lessons if cancelled less than 24 hours before the lesson start date and date.

Q: Are group lessons an available option?

A: Yes they are, so whether you would like music lessons as a family or as a group of friends these options are available.

Q: Is parking available at Hickies?

A: No we don’t have parking outside of Hickies because we are located on Friar Street in Reading town centre. Places to park within walking distance include Queens Road and The Oracle Centre.

Q: When is the music school open?

A: Our lessons run from 9:30 am until later into the evening seven days a week.

Q: My work hours change frequently, do I have to have a lesson at the same time every week?

A: Not at all, we completely understand that some students need to work different hours in a week. Contact us and tell us your situation, we will be able to work out a schedule that suits you best.

Q: Are there toilet facilities on site?

A: Yes, we have toilets that our music school students can use.
