Ray Noble (1903-1978) was a composer and bandleader, working in the golden age of British dance music – the 1920’s and 30’s. His 1934 classic, The Very Thought Of You , for which Noble wrote both the music and the lyrics, is considered by many to be his signature tune. Its global fame has been helped by the numerous covers and re-recordings, most notably by Bing Crosby, Doris Day, Franck Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Paul McCartney.
