Ruth is an enthusiastic, positive teacher who is passionate about making music lessons fun and engaging whilst ensuring her students gain a thorough grounding in all aspects of instrumental playing. After picking up the clarinet aged 8, Ruth has never looked back, gradually adding saxophone, flute and piano to her collection. Since completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Birmingham (studying flute under internationally recognised flautist Judith Hall), she spent a year as Musician in Residence at the prestigious Malvern St James Girls’ School in Worcestershire before training at the UCL Institute of Education. She is currently working part-time as a secondary teacher at Ranelagh School in Bracknell, where she has worked for the last 4 years teaching music up to GCSE and A Level.
