Description

Cort’s GA-MY Bevel sits at the heart of the Grand Regal line, marrying bold projection with easy-going comfort. A thin natural gloss finish lets the solid Sitka spruce top shimmer under light while keeping the grain open and lively. On the picking hand side, a bevelled armrest softens the body edge so your forearm rests naturally, making long rehearsals feel effortless. Sweep a chord and the voice leaps forward with cedar-like touch sensitivity yet holds the headroom and crisp overtone stack that only quality spruce can summon.

Flip the guitar and you meet a figured myrtlewood back, arched for extra strength and projection. Myrtle lives tonally between maple brightness and mahogany warmth, adding a glassy top-end sheen to the muscular mid punch. That arched contour acts like a shallow speaker cabinet, reflecting air toward the sound-hole and extending sustain. Hand scalloped spruce braces in a forward X pattern keep the top stiff where it needs support and feather-light everywhere else, so the dynamics track every nuance of palm-mute or fingertip.

A satin-finished mahogany neck slips into the body at the fourteenth fret with a tight dovetail joint. The profile is a comfortable C that fills the hand without excess girth, and the 25.5-inch scale length holds tension firm enough for piano-like clarity. Ovangkol forms both fingerboard and bridge, tapping into the fast attack and oily sustain normally associated with rosewood while adding a subtle shimmer of its own. Bone at the nut and saddle, paired with ebony bridge pins, completes an all-organic energy path from string to soundboard.

When the room calls for volume, an L R Baggs EAS-VTC system translates the guitar’s natural character straight to the desk. The undersaddle element captures sparkle and snap, while a body-mounted transducer fills in woodiness and low-end bloom. Two small wheels for volume and tone sit just inside the sound-hole, preserving the clean rim lines and keeping control changes within fingertip reach. Matching die-cast tuners with black metal buttons lock in pitch, and a UV-cured gloss finish guards the wood while letting it breathe and shift with the seasons.

Features

Solid Sitka Spruce Top

Pressure-tested Sitka delivers quick response and broad dynamic range, rewarding gentle fingerstyle passages with nuanced detail yet standing up to aggressive flat-picking without compressing.

Myrtlewood Arched Back and Sides

Figured myrtlewood supplies maple-like clarity with a hint of mahogany warmth, and the subtly arched back reflects sound toward the listener, boosting projection and sustain without adding bulk.

Ergonomic Bevelled Armrest and Venetian Cutaway

A smooth arm bevel removes the sharp body edge and keeps blood flowing through the picking arm during long sets, while the graceful cutaway opens the upper register for lead work and alternative chord shapes.

Hand Scalloped Spruce X Bracing

Forward-shifted braces carved by hand balance strength with flexibility, letting the top breathe freely for rich overtones and quick note bloom while retaining long-term structural integrity.

L R Baggs EAS-VTC Electronics

A dual-source pickup with undersaddle element and body sensor sends a mix-ready signal to any PA, and discreet sound-hole controls let you dial in stage tone without bulky side panels.
