Description
The L60 lives in Cort’s Luce family, a line aimed at players who want traditional looks, modern reliability, and a comfortably compact body. Its orchestra-size outline rests light against the torso, with a waist narrow enough for seated practice yet a lower bout wide enough to push air when you strum hard. A genuine solid spruce soundboard forms the heart of the instrument, finished in a thin natural gloss that shows every grain line rather than burying it under thick lacquer. Because the coating is so light, the top reacts to the gentlest finger touch and still holds its shape when you drive open-chord rhythms. Under that top, Cort’s Advanced X bracing fans out toward the lower bout, giving the guitar a lively first attack and a satisfying bloom of sustain.
Mahogany back and sides round out the voice, adding a gentle warmth that smooths the spruce sparkle. The timber is lightly arched across the back, which stiffens the plate without extra weight and helps reflections inside the box reach the sound-hole with more projection. A satin-smooth mahogany neck meets the body by way of a hand-fitted dovetail, keeping the heel trim and transmitting vibration rather than damping it. Up top, a laurel fingerboard stretches to twenty medium frets on a friendly fifteen-and-three-quarter-inch radius, so chords fret cleanly and bends lift without chatter. The standard 25 ½-inch scale adds string snap for articulate flat-picking while the nut, cut at a comfortable forty-three millimetres, gives finger-style passages plenty of room.
Cort dresses the L60 with tasteful vintage cues. A simple abalone-style rosette rings the sound-hole, white purfling traces the top edge, and black binding sets off the natural hue of the spruce. Die-cast tuners in chrome glide smoothly and lock pitch through temperature swings, while coated phosphor bronze strings stay bright for weeks before the first restring. The laurel bridge carries a subtle scoop behind the saddle to lift the string break-angle, sending more energy into the top for longer sustain. A modern PPS nut and saddle resist wear yet feel and sound closer to bone than traditional plastic.
Weighing a shade over three kilograms, the L60 slips easily into a gigbag for open-mic nights, songwriting retreats or camp-fire sessions. Its balanced, mid-forward voice dodges the boomy bass that can swamp small rooms, making it an intuitive partner for singers or anyone who likes their guitar to sit neatly beneath a vocal. Whether you are stepping up from your first beginner model or adding a lightweight travel companion, the L60 offers classic tonewood character, clean construction and player-friendly comfort in one inviting package.
