Description

The Squier Contemporary Active Precision Bass PH in Pearl White—a fusion of iconic Fender design with modern innovations tailored for the ambitious bassist. At its core, the instrument showcases Squier’s very own SQR ceramic pickups: a unique combination of a split single-coil and humbucking bridge pickup. These deliver a high-output sound, characterized by punchy lows and crystal-clear highs, ensuring that every note you play stands out.

Powering these pickups is an in-house designed active 9-volt preamp from Fender. It’s not just any preamp, but one that offers master controls for volume, tone, pickup blending, and a dual boost for both bass and treble. Whether you’re looking to keep things mellow or give your bass lines some extra kick, this preamp has got you covered.

One of the standout features of this bass is its roasted maple neck. Chosen for its superior tone and stability, roasted maple not only sounds fantastic but comes with a beautiful deep hue, making it a visual treat as well. The neck boasts a comfortable “C” shape and is smoothly finished with satin urethane, except for the glossed headstock face, which features a stealthy black paint paired with gleaming chrome logos.

Ergonomics takes center stage with the sculpted neck heel, making upper fret access effortless. Paired with a 12-inch radius Indian Laurel fingerboard, adorned with pearloid dot inlays and 20 narrow tall frets, every note is within easy reach.

The body, carved from poplar, wears a lustrous gloss polyurethane finish, emphasizing the timeless shape of the Precision Bass. The modern bridge, with its enhanced mass, ensures optimal body resonance, leading to a fuller, richer tone. Aesthetically, the bass is complemented with a 3-ply black pickguard, matte black pickup covers, and knurled dome control knobs.

From a hardware perspective, the bass features vintage-style tuning machines and string trees, both known for their precision and classic aesthetic. Strings of nickel-plated steel, ranging from .045-.105 gauges, come standard, ensuring a balanced tone straight out of the box.

The Squier Contemporary Active Precision Bass doesn’t skimp on electronics either. With its PH pickup configuration—featuring an SQR Ceramic Humbucker at the bridge and an SQR Split Single-Coil at the neck—and active electronics, versatility is at the player’s fingertips.

Measuring at a 34-inch scale length and with dimensions perfect for traveling musicians, this bass is ready to hit the road. And while it doesn’t come with its own case, it’s compatible with the Classic Series Precision/Jazz Bass Wood Hardshell Case and the FB610 Electric Bass Gig Bag, ensuring your instrument stays safe on the go.

In essence, the Squier Contemporary Active Precision Bass PH in Pearl White is a blend of tradition and innovation—a choice pick for bassists ready to make a statement.
