Description
Faith’s Nexus Venus Copper Black greets the eye with a deep, almost liquid sheen that flickers between obsidian shadow and warm copper streaks as the light moves across its surface. The gloss finish is laid over solid Indonesian mahogany plates that have been carefully stained to reveal every swirl of grain rather than hiding it. Because the top, back, and sides come from the same species, the guitar’s voice is strikingly linear through the spectrum; the first strum blooms with woody mids, then settles into a pleasing roll-off that stays clear of harsh treble spikes.
Under that finish a lattice of hand-scalloped quarter sawn spruce braces holds the top light yet resilient. These braces sit in a traditional forward X pattern, letting the mahogany diaphragm breathe freely when you dig in with a pick while still keeping clarity when you drop to a gentle fingerstyle whisper. The Venus outline itself strikes a neat balance between comfort and power: a fifteen-inch lower bout offers enough air for solid low-end push, while the body depth remains more compact than a dreadnought so it stays easy to cradle during long rehearsals.
A satin-coated mahogany neck bolts on with Patrick James Eggle’s slim heel design, keeping the joint secure and unobtrusive. The scale extends to 645 millimetres, giving each note a lively snap without feeling stiff. Macassan ebony forms both fingerboard and bridge, and its dense pores pass string energy straight to the top for lingering sustain. A Nubone nut carved at forty-three millimetres supplies just the right spread for confident fingerpicking as well as broad cowboy chords. Black Faith Precision machine heads round off the headstock and hold tuning with quiet reliability.
When the house engineer calls for a line check, the Fishman Presys 2 system takes command. A Sonicore undersaddle element feeds the compact side panel where volume, contour, phase, and a bright on board tuner live in an uncluttered layout. Plug in and the guitar’s natural midrange focus arrives at the desk with very little corrective EQ, while the phase switch reins in any low-frequency rumble that a lively stage can produce. Faith ships every Nexus Venus Copper Black in a padded gigbag with backpack straps and an accessory pocket, making it ready for the open-mic circuit the moment it arrives.
