Description
Faith’s Nexus Venus Solar Flare is an all-mahogany auditorium that invites you to dig in and let the mid-range growl. The Solar Flare satin burst is vivid without looking garish, pulling orange and copper from the dense Indonesian grain while leaving the back and sides a deep ember glow. Because the top, back, and sides all come from the same wood family, the voice is seamless from low mids to chime, rewarding heavy strumming with woody punch and fingerstyle with velvety sustain. Hand-scalloped spruce braces sit just beneath the solid mahogany top, freeing it to vibrate while keeping the structure rigid enough for hard gigging.
Comfort is a large part of the Venus story. With a fifteen-inch lower bout and a body depth that stays shy of a dreadnought, the guitar rests easily on the knee yet still pushes plenty of air. The slim cutaway offers unhurried access past the twelfth fret, and Patrick James Eggle’s bolt-on neck joint keeps the heel compact, so the seventeenth fret feels closer than on many acoustics. A satin-finished mahogany neck, carved to a soft C, mates with a Macassan ebony fingerboard whose sixteen-inch radius lets string bends glide without effort. The 645-millimetre scale length keeps tension lively enough for crisp articulation while remaining forgiving on the fretting hand.
Stage work is handled by a Fishman Presys 2 system paired with a Sonicore undersaddle element. The side panel sits flush and leaves only a subtle black outline, housing a bright tuner, contour EQ, phase switch, and volume wheel. Plugged in, the pickup delivers the guitar’s natural mid-push with minimal fuss, and the phase switch quickly tames any low-end rumble under lights. Black Faith Precision machine heads sit on an ebony headplate, matching the ebony bridge and pickguard, while Nubone hardware at the nut and saddle transfers energy cleanly. A padded gigbag comes standard, ready for trains, planes, or the local open-mic.
